What is Prin Lymphatic Therapy?

Prin Lymphatic Therapy is a tightening treatment mask for clinic and salon use. It’s designed to work with your circulatory system - an often overlooked, but vital component of optimal skin health. This organ system is responsible for removing waste via our lymphatics, and nourishing our cells and tissues via our blood supply. These systems always work together, taking and giving, maintaining homeostasis. The circulatory system plays a key role in a holistic approach to skin health.

When our blood circulates around our body it provides nutrients (such as amino acids), water and oxygen to our cells and tissues.  
However during the capillary fluid exchange (where water, amino acids, and oxygen cross the capillary wall into the extracellular fluid), fluids don’t travel very far into the surrounding tissue, and even less when there are roadblocks. Which is why there needs to be a ‘clear road’, free from debris, so that these nutrients can get to their target. This is why lymphatic drainage is important to the health of your skin!

It’s not only what goes into the body, it’s what goes into the cell.  Just because you have oxygen, nutrients and water in your body, that doesn’t mean they are reaching the cell. You need supply AND you need drainage before supply.

Lymphatic Therapy works by applying transient pressure to the skin to assist with activating these  processes, creating a clean environment for cells to flourish in and feeding the cells fresh oxygenated and  nutrient rich blood.

Lymphatic Therapy is indicated for maintaining skin health, as part of a skin health pathway, or as pre and  post support to advanced skin rejuvenation - creating a healthy responsive skin, and assisting with healing  and recovery.

So what does the mask do for our skin?

Elimination - supports the skin to eliminate toxins by compression- it opens the lymphatic vessel 'doors' to absorb waste and drain them out of body.

Nutrition - Delivers nutrients from blood flow that would otherwise bypass the skin due to poor circulation, stress, lack of movement, and scar tissue (physical roadblocks)

Strengthening - through movement, the capillary walls are exercised and kept elastic, increasing pliability

Healing - The lymphatic system removes invaders from the skin, speeding up the healing process and reducing inflammation and infection

Sensation:

‍The PRIN Lymphatic Therapy mask gradually tightens and hardens on the skin. You may then experience a pulsing sensation. Some patients can also experience an itching sensation. All movement during the treatment is discouraged.

Post Treatment:

Skin is hydrated, glowing and ‘fresh’, and this post treatment response typically lasts significantly longer than the usual facial glow window. This is because the cells
are hydrated from within.

You may have visible dilated arterioles following the treatment. Any dilation will last around 15m. The extent of the visibility is different from person to person, and from
time to time.

It is possible that you may experience some of the following temporary responses because of this treatment:

• Tightness or dryness of the skin
• An outbreak of pimples (often referred to as a 'purge') if there is any underlying congestion
• Redness and irritation of the skin - more typically common in dehydrated skins due to the increase in free water levels

• Kakadu Plum Extract
  Contains the highest known concentration of Vitamin C of any single natural food source in the world making it an excellent antioxidant. Indigenous Australians have used this plant extensively for its traditional healing properties.  
• Amino Acids - Lysine and Glycine  
  They work in the body with other nutrients as  a “building blocks”. Lysine plays a key role in  collagen synthesis, improving the appearance of lines and wrinkles and
  Glycine may help to repair damaged tissue and to promote healing.  
• Davidson Plum Extract  
  Includes powerful compounds Tartaric Acid, Gallic Acid, Quercetin, and Anthocyanin delivering natural

• Tasmanian Pepper Leaf Extract

• Aloe Vera Powder (Organic)  
  Contains anti-inflammatory properties to  reduce swelling and calm itchy skin conditions. It contains a high source of antioxidants with moisturising abilities to  soften and nourish aged or damaged skin.  
• Chamomile Extract  
  Has many powerful skin properties such as anti inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial.
• Liquorice Extract  
  Contains 8 powerful phyto actives that offer skin brightening and supports the antioxidant action of Vitamin C.
• Calendula (Marigold) Extract  
  Promotes wound healing while reducing inflammation and contains antiseptic properties, which are helpful for  treating wounds and preventing acne.  
• Superoxide Dismutase
  Topical SOD has been shown to decrease  MDA formation and protects cell membranes  as well as protecting against fragmentation from free radical damage to Type I Collagen.

What is the difference between the Prin Lymphatic Therapy mask (in clinic) and the Prin Flow mask (take home)?

The difference between the Flow Mask (retail) and Lymphatic Therapy (professional).

Both are compression masks – so they functionally act the same. There are however key differences between the Flow Mask and the Lymphatic Therapy.

1. Intensity - 7/10 versus 10/10 compression
2. Potency - The professional version contains more powerful actives that are more appropriate for a clinical setting and at more potent amounts compared to the home kits.
3. Application Area - The Flow mask (home) also contains approximately 5 treatments when applied from the collar bone up - this does not capture the décolletage which incorporates some of the major clusters of lymph nodes. Patients that wish to use the professional coverage area (including décolletage) from their Flow Mask should only expect to make 2 - 3 masks from the kit.

Prin tightening mask contains albumen which is derived from egg. Whilst this treatment is not suitable  for vegans, we are pleased to note that we pay extra to ensure this ingredient is free range.  
We will also never sell our products to countries or third parties with the knowledge that it will be  tested on animals. We don’t believe in being complicit to a practice we are strongly against.
