What is the Performance Shot?

The performance shot is a procedure using your own blood-derived plasma to stimulate healing, rejuvenation and sexual function in men.

The performance shot is delivered using the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) procedure, which uses your own blood to stimulate healing and rejuvenation. We start the procedure by applying anaesthetic gel to the area being treated, this will be most effective in about 30 mins. During this time we will collect a small sample of your blood that will be spun down in the clinic’s centrifuge.

The process of centrifuging your blood sample separates your plasma into different layers. The platelet-rich layer is extracted then injected into the erectile tissue of the penis.

What are the benefits?

The benefits typically include improved circulation within the penis, increased sensation, enhanced sexual performance and stronger erections. Some men also report changes to the girth and length of the penis.

PRP can also improve medical conditions such as the discomfort of the prostate and urinary incontinence.

Is the Performance Shot painful?‍

You will experience minimal to no pain during the procedure.

Anaesthetic gel is applied approximately half an hour prior to the procedure which helps to make the small injections quite comfortable.

Can anyone have the Performance Shot procedure?

If you have blood disorders or infectious blood-borne diseases such as Hepatitis you will not be a suitable candidate.

The Performance Shot may not work as well in smokers as the toxins in the cigarettes will inhibit the growth of the stem cells that are recruited and fertilised by PRP.

Smoking also decreases the oxygen-carrying capacity of red blood cells, which further reduces the healing and rejuvenation process.

Is there any downtime?

No. There may be some temporary tenderness that will settle after a short period, but you can return to normal activities almost immediately. There are no specific after-care requirements for your treatment.
