We can help you remove any lumps, bumps, corns and even crooked toes, removing discomfort and creating feet that you'll want to show off.
Any area of cosmetic concern can usually be treated in some form, the feet are no different to any other area of the body. Some are concerned about buckling lesser toes either from their position and appearance, from the way they fit in shoes or interfere with normal footwear, or from the corns and calluses that can form on top- or indeed a combination of any of these issues. Lesser toes can also be too long or too short.
The big toe is not exempt from deformity and is in fact most often a cause for concern, with the most common complaint being a bunion deformity. This is a combination of an enlarged bony prominence at the inside of the big toe joint with a big toe that drifts out towards the lesser toes. It is often red and/or swollen, functions poorly and can cause considerable pain. Beyond that normal footwear becomes a real issue.
Nails can become unsightly, thickened, ingrown or infected and can be addressed with laser or medicinal treatment.
Flat feet are often a cause of concern with pain and cosmesis. Flat feet are a natural variation and in many patients cause no concern, but when they cause pain, distress, discomfort or difficulty with footwear it is worth considering surgical options.
Loss of fat pads under the ball of the feet (fat pad atrophy) that causes pain in the ball of the foot from periods of standing or higher heeled shoes can be treated with fat pad injections as appropriate.
Most concerns of the feet and ankles can be addressed. Common concerns include bunions, hammertoes, arthritic big toe joints, long toes, short toes, pain under the ball of the foot, deformed nails, soft tissue lumps like ganglions, arthritic bumps or exostoses that arise. These are often painful as well as cosmetically concerning.
Cinderella surgery is basically any foot surgery to improve the cosmesis of the foot. It is individually based, obviously, and the extent of the surgery depends on the individuals concerns and expectations, but can include straightening any of the toes or multiples of them, reducing the width of the foot, or removing any lumps or bumps that cause concern.
Most surgery is day surgery and can be done under local anaesthetic, local with sedation or general anaesthetic depending on the procedure and the comfort of the patient. You will generally go home that day and will often be able to walk in a protected fashion, often partial weight bearing in a post-operative shoe with crutches.
Prices vary depending on the procedure and treatment involved. If the procedure is purely cosmetic you are unlikely to get a rebate, but more often than not whilst there is a cosmetic concern there is a degree of pain and dysfunction associated. The best way to be able to give an accurate costing is to come in for a consultation.
Most concerns have more than one course of treatment. Feel free to contact us so one of our team can discuss options for your unique concern.
